Emily R. Benning, MA, LPC Intern

 

Emily R. Benning, MAMFC, holds an LPC Intern's license from the State of Texas. Emily completed her undergraduate degree in Music Performance from College of the Ozarks. Emily has extensive experience working with college students, and with teens in a residential setting. Emily is also a graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary where she earned a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Counseling.

Emily, the daughter of career missionaries with Wycliffe Bible Translators, believes in instilling hope in women and teens affected by trauma. Working within the biblical Christian worldview, as well as cognitive behavioral and neurotherapeutic interventions, Emily seeks to promote healing and restoration for those who are suffering from depression and anxiety due to negative life events.

Emily is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern under the supervision of Wesley D. Center, PhD, LPC-S. She is also pursuing board certification as a neurotherapist through the Biofeedback Certification International Alliance. Emily is actively engaged in studies in brain-based research, counseling interventions, and proactive evidenced-based practices to maintain health spiritually, physically, emotionally, and relationally.

At Focus for Living, Emily is a psychotherapist and neurotherapist, working with children, adolescents, and adults in both individual and group sessions.
